Balwyn Redbacks Club Info
The Balwyn Baptist Basketball
Club Inc. – ‘The Redbacks’ –
are part of the Greater Eastern Basketball
Conference and have teams registered with the Melbourne
East Basketball Association Junior Competition (M.E.B.A.J).
Playing in the MEBA Juniors the redbacks are aligned with the Nunawading Spectres, one of Victorias most successful basketball clubs. A number of Redback players also play for the Specters Juniors.
Throughout the season we
have training once a week and a game each Saturday. The Saturday game
can be played at anyone of the associations Stadiums or school basketball
courts around the eastern suburbs. They are all conveniently
within a 20 minute drive.
Our training venue is primarily
the Balwyn Baptist Church hall. We also utilise
the full size basketball court at Strathcona Baptist Girls College,
Scott Street Canterbury.
Our Club is a healthy small
club; we have approximately ten teams each season and approximately
100 players. We welcome all players but the majority of our registrations
come from Surrey Hills, Balwyn, Mont Albert, Kew, Cantebury and North Box Hill. Our
registrations come mainly from ‘word of mouth’.
If you know of a potential player
who wishes to be part of a vibrant and fun atmosphere please contact
us.
Go Redbacks!
